Salentein Winery

Located in Los Árboles, Tunuyán, in the heart of the Uco Valley, Bodegas Salentein is one of Mendoza’s most iconic wineries. Surrounded by vineyards with the Andes Mountains as a dramatic backdrop, it brings together distinctive architecture, premium wines, gastronomy, art, and wine tourism in one remarkable destination.

Winery & Vineyards

The winery’s distinctive architecture was designed in the shape of a cross, with four wings converging in a large circular central chamber. Its cellars are located underground, where the wines are aged under naturally controlled temperature and humidity conditions.

Salentein owns several estates throughout the Uco Valley, with vineyards planted at different altitudes and under diverse soil and climatic conditions. Today, it has approximately 800 hectares under vine, reflecting the diversity of terroirs found throughout the region.

Wines

Salentein’s portfolio ranges from young wines to premium labels and single-vineyard wines. Its main collections include Portillo, Killka, Salentein Reserva, Numina, Single Vineyard, and Primus, as well as its Gran Valle de Uco Blend.

Malbec holds a prominent place in the portfolio, alongside varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, among others. The Single Vineyard collection seeks to express specific vineyard sites and terroirs within the Uco Valley, including high-altitude vineyards in the San Pablo Geographical Indication (GI).

Wine Tourism

Bodegas Salentein offers guided tours of the winery and its cellars, wine tastings, and a variety of wine experiences designed to introduce visitors to both its wines and the distinctive characteristics of the Uco Valley.

One of its most distinctive attractions is Killka – Espacio Salentein, where wine and art come together through an important collection of contemporary Argentine art and 19th- and 20th-century Dutch art, as well as temporary exhibitions.

The experience is complemented by Killka Restaurant, a Wine Bar, a wine shop, and a variety of gastronomic experiences. Posada Salentein is also located within the property, allowing visitors to combine a winery experience with accommodation among the vineyards.
