Algodon Wine Estates

Located in Cuadro Benegas, San Rafael, Algodon Wines is part of Algodon Wine Estates, an extensive Mendoza estate surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and fruit orchards, with the Sierra Pintada forming part of its scenic landscape. The estate combines winemaking, gastronomy, and wine-related experiences in a distinctive rural setting in southern Mendoza.

Winery & Vineyards

The winery is located approximately 800 meters above sea level and combines traditional techniques with modern technology. For its premium wines, it uses a distinctive microvinification process carried out manually using a selection of the finest grapes.

During this process, the grapes ferment directly in French oak barrels, where aging may continue for up to two years. This technique, relatively uncommon in Argentina, is one of the distinctive features of Algodon Wines.

The estate grows varieties including Malbec, Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Semillón, with both historic vineyards and more recent plantings.

Wines

Malbec and Bonarda are among the leading varieties in the portfolio, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay.

Production includes varietal wines, blends, and limited editions. Current labels include Algodón Malbec, Bonarda, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Black Label wines such as Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and a selection of blends.

At the higher end of the portfolio are limited-production wines such as PIMA, Gran Cuvée, and Winemaker’s Selection, featuring blends that showcase different grape varieties grown on the estate.
